The first semester of the 2008-09 school year was filled with adversities and hardships, but the Lord has been faithful still. He has provided the means to go forward month by month. Over the last four months, the students chose from a variety of classes, such as Theology, Minor Prophets, Homiletics, the Gospels, Daniel, Old and New Testament Survey, Free Will Baptist Treatise, Computer, and English. Eight students are scheduled to complete their studies and graduate this May.

At a recent meeting, the Executive Board of the Association of Free Will Baptist Churches in Mexico, was faced with a difficult situation concerning the administration of the Seminary. The previous president, Dr. Thomas Marberry, who left Mexico for a Vice President’s position at Hillsdale College, recommended his vacated office be filled by Pastor Marco Mendoza. Pastor Mendoza had served the school for 12 years as Academic Dean, but was met with many obstacles in fulfilling his new responsibilities. So the Board prayerfully chose to replace Brother Mendoza and his colleagues with Pastor Hilarino Gonzalez and his new team of administrators. Gonzalez will serve as interim president until further notice.

The second semester began in February. Classes will continue as scheduled. Leroy and Wanda Lynch, volunteer missionaries from East Tennessee, will serve as campus supervisors and dorm parents.
